Sauber presents the Formula 1 C30

This new single-seater will, unlike the C29, be decorated with numerous Mexican sponsors, whose arrival was facilitated by the appointment of Sergio Perez, alongside Kamui Kobayashi, who will take on the role of the team’s No. 1 driver, for his second full season in Formula 1.

The objective during the development of the C30 was to build upon the C29, consolidating its strengths while eliminating its weaknesses. Additionally, it is very important for us to start the winter tests with a car that we understand, and we have worked hard to ensure that the car’s characteristics go in the direction we deem right. There is also much to learn about the new Pirelli tires. » explains the technical director of the team, James Key.

With the numerous regulatory changes that can only be analyzed on the track, it was important to design a predictable car with good flexibility to respond to the results obtained.

The director of the eponymous team, Peter Sauber, hopes that the C30 will help the team improve in the areas where it was weaker the previous year.

« We want to regularly finish in the points and improve our position in the constructors’ championship. 2010 was the team’s 41st year, but also one of our most difficult.

Never before had we encountered such reliability issues, which kept us busy in the first half of the season. The appointment of James Key as technical director already paid off the previous year, and he is now in charge of the C30.

Sauber also announced that it would use the KERS produced by Ferrari.
