Pastor Maldonado thinks he’s aiming for points in Sepang

The Williams team rookie, Pastor Maldonado, believes that qualifying and finishing in the Top 10 is a reasonable goal for his second Grand Prix in Malaysia this weekend.

The GP2 champion made a modest start in Formula 1 in Melbourne, qualifying 15th and retiring due to a transmission issue.

« After a difficult start in Australia, I am more than ready for Malaysia. Despite the results in Australia, I am more confident with the car and the team. I think we are capable of getting better performance out of the car in Sepang. »

Although Maldonado retired early in Australia, he believes that having experienced an entire Grand Prix weekend has made him stronger for Sepang.

Our goal is to continue improving race after race. I would like to be in the Top 10 for both qualifying and the race, and I think we can do it.

Of course, it would have been better if we had finished the race in Melbourne, but the positive point is that I am now more experienced and confident about how a Formula 1 weekend unfolds.
