Briatore thinks the new rules are a success
The Italian is now a spectator of Formula 1
The former Renault boss, Flavio Briatore, stated that this year’s new regulations were a success, claiming that he had never enjoyed watching a race as much.
The Italian has always been a fervent advocate of radical changes to enhance the spectacle, and he admitted he was happy with what the rules allow this year.
He also acknowledged the work done by Pirelli with its tires, which he believes is a major factor in the spectacle of the races this year.
I watched the race on television and I admit that I have never enjoyed it so much. Now anything is possible: Webber starts from 18th place and finishes seven seconds behind the winner, and with a few more laps he could have won. A driver’s skill is highlighted by his driving and strategies because in the end, if you look at the standings, the best emerges. So I have to say that the new rules bring excitement to Formula 1. Before it was depressing, whereas now it’s unpredictable. The tires have improved things.
