Eric Lux officially files a complaint against Sutil
Following his assault in China
It is well known that in Formula One, one issue follows another. After the thorny Bahrain dossier, discussions about the future F1 engine, and the conflict between Group Lotus and Team Lotus, it’s now the Sutil case that has returned to the forefront in the press.
After the Chinese Grand Prix, many F1 figures had arranged to meet at a nightclub in Shanghai. It was in this club that an altercation took place between Adrian Sutil and Eric Lux, Gerard Lopez’s right-hand man at Genii. The filing of a complaint by Eric Lux had been considered, but the matter was then overshadowed by others.
Today, we learn, via the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeinen Zeitung, that Lux has indeed filed a complaint against the Force India driver. « It is a complaint for assault, » indicates a spokesperson for the prosecutor.
Adrian Sutil said he is ready to face the accusations made by the Luxembourger. “I was prepared for anything. I’m just surprised it took so long,” Sutil remarked in the Valencia paddock. “I absolutely want the truth. I am ready to defend myself.”
The Force India driver also expressed confidence regarding the potential consequences this case might have on the continuation of his career. “What could happen to me? Why should I lose my seat? This is a private matter, my job is to drive. I am fine, I can focus on my job,” insists the German.
In any case, the complaint filed by Lux might not be without consequence for Sutil since the FIA has implemented a code of conduct following Lewis Hamilton’s antics in Australia last season.
