Friday: the Mercedes continues to evolve
Difficult to get a real idea of the performance level of each team at the end of this first day of testing, disrupted by rain. Weather conditions are expected to be better for the rest of the weekend.At Mercedes GP, they are nevertheless satisfied with this first testing and approach the continuation of the hostilities with optimism.
Nico Rosberg – 6th and 2nd:
« It was difficult, but our car performed well in these conditions, and maybe we have a better pace in the rain. The intermediate tires were efficient today. We will have to wait for dry conditions to get a better idea about our new features since we weren’t able to do all the work we wanted. So tomorrow will be an important day for us. »
Michael Schumacher – 2nd and 12th:
« It was difficult to judge the real performance level of the car because the conditions were not optimal to make a good analysis of where we are. So I don’t want to draw any conclusions from today’s tests until we have the opportunity to do some dry laps tomorrow. However, I am confident it was a good first day. We continue to develop step by step and make improvements to the car.»
