Friday: We are satisfied at Team Lotus
Despite the rain, the Team Lotus drivers were able to complete the majority of the scheduled program. Now it will be necessary to analyze the data to learn more. Heikki Kovalainen hopes to make the most of tomorrow's session to learn a bit more before the qualifying rounds.
Karun Chandhok – 20th and Did not participate:
« It was a good session. Obviously, the conditions weren’t ideal, but it’s useful mileage for me. I had never driven with the Pirelli intermediates, and it’s a bit different from last year, but I had fun and I’m happy to have been able to contribute here at Silverstone. »
Jarno Trulli – 19th and 21st:
This morning was a very good session with stable conditions. In the afternoon, the weather made life a bit difficult for us and in the end, I don’t think we drove enough with the intermediate tires which seemed very good in the last minutes. But I think we accomplished a good part of the program today so from a data standpoint it was satisfying.
Heikki Kovalainen – Did not participate and 13th:
« The conditions were treacherous, with heavy showers at the start and then a track that dried out towards the end, but everything was fine on the car and the balance seemed good both on the wet tires and on the intermediates. »
« I don’t know if we learned much, it’s always difficult with this type of weather, but it’s the same for everyone so hopefully we’ll have more track time tomorrow and we’ll see where we are in qualifying. »
