Saturday: Maldonado makes Williams shine at home
Mixed fortunes at Williams. Pastor Maldonado delivers a very strong performance by placing his FW33 in 7th position, while Rubens Barrichello was less fortunate and will start 15th tomorrow.
Pastor Maldonado – 7th:
« Our car is running well and we delivered a good performance today. It’s Williams’ home race, so I’m happy for the team. I’m confident and looking forward to tomorrow’s race because I’ve always enjoyed driving here at Silverstone. The track, with its fast corners, suits our car well, so let’s see what happens. »
Rubens Barrichello – 15th:
« I encountered traffic at the end of my first lap in Q2, which had consequences on my second lap. When a track like this dries up, you can lose everything, so it’s really unfortunate. We need to see what the weather forecast is for tomorrow, but I think the car is much better than our position suggests, and the team has done a good job. »
