Sunday: Double Retirement for Team Lotus
The joy of qualifying quickly gave way to disillusionment in Tony Fernandes' camp. Both drivers were quickly forced to retire due to technical issues with the T128s. The whole team is now focused on the next meeting in Germany in two weeks.
Jarno Trulli – Retirement:
« I got off to a good start and I was about to pass Timo, but then I received a radio message asking me to stop the car to avoid damaging the engine due to an oil leak. Obviously, this is not the way we wanted the race to go, but our reliability has improved a lot this season. I’m sure we’ll be back at the Nürburgring where we should have similar weather conditions, so we’re going to move forward and make sure to learn from this weekend. »
Heikki Kovalainen – Retirement:
« What a shame! I got off to a very good start but then lost fourth gear and had to retire. The conditions were what they should be for real drivers, a mix with part of the track wet and the other dry, which I love and the kind of race where we could have come into our own. But these things happen, and we have to move on and keep pushing in Germany.
