Friday: Reasonable day at Virgin
After securing a partnership with McLaren for the 2012 season, the two Virgin drivers aim to finish ahead of HRT for the rest of the season, which is not guaranteed, just like qualifying under the 107% rule.
Timo Glock – 23rd and 19th
« This morning, we wanted to focus on our aerodynamic program; therefore, we didn’t really work on the settings, so we only used the Prime tires, which are slower than the two option tires. I think the second session was reasonable for us. I’m not 100% happy, but I think it’s a good start to the weekend. I feel good in my car, and I’m very happy to be in Germany and racing at home in front of fantastic German fans. »
Jérôme D’Ambrosio – 24th and 21st
« It was a calm Friday compared to Silverstone, which had been disrupted by the weather. We conducted some good tests, and I’m quite confident for tomorrow. I still need to fine-tune my driving on this circuit, but I’m definitely quite happy with my day. »
