Di Resta is upset with Nick Heidfeld
The German driver did not come to apologize after their collision at the Nürburgring.
Last week, in Germany, Paul di Resta collided with Nick Heidfeld in the opening corners of the Grand Prix. Five days after the incident, the Scot still holds a grudge against the Lotus Renault GP driver who has not come forward to apologize.
Yes, because it was blatant. I lost more than he did even though he was the one responsible for the incident, explains the Scottish driver when asked if he was disappointed with Heidfeld’s attitude.
The story is different from the German’s side, who believes he is not at fault, even though he received a drive-through penalty from the stewards. Furthermore, Heidfeld recalls that it was di Resta who collided with the R31 in Canada and didn’t apologize either, blaming Heidfeld for the incident.
« In Canada, people thought he had touched the back of my car and instead of apologizing he blamed me. So why should I apologize? » explains Heidfeld.
« In Germany, I locked up the front and he turned in front of me, I couldn’t do anything, and the stewards decided to give me a penalty. You have to deal with it. It was just a racing incident, » adds the German.
