Friday: Williams Tests New Parts Again
Williams continues to try to improve the performance of its car. The team therefore brought new parts to Hungary. Maldonado tried a new cooling system while Barrichello used a new rear wing. The performance over one lap is not yet optimal, but both drivers hope to have a good race on Sunday and possibly score some points.
Rubens Barrichello – 14th and 13th:
« We tested a lot of things today. We had to run without KERS in the morning because of a small issue, but we reinstalled it in the afternoon and it was okay. The car improved a bit, but 13th place is not where we want to be, and it’s going to be tough to get into Q3 tomorrow. Our goal today was to focus on the race setup because I think points are achievable here. »
Pastor Maldonado – 18th and 15th:
« We brought new parts to Hungary, which we tested today. I tried a new cooling system and I’ll have a new rear wing tomorrow that worked well on the other car. I’m going to work hard with my engineers tonight to improve the car. We still have a lot to do to have a good race. »
