Friday: Lotus Renault is heading in the right direction

Nick Heidfeld – Did not participate and 14th:

« As I only drove in the second session, we tried to fully utilize our time and made good progress with the car. Initially, we had a lot of oversteer, but the changes we made corrected it. We are heading in the right direction, but we still need to work on the settings to progress. The grip level of the circuit seems quite low and the difference between the two types of tires seems very significant. Tomorrow looks promising.

Vitaly Petrov – 9th and 17th:

« We encountered difficulties with the rear because the diffuser and the rear wing were not working efficiently. This was also the reason why we lacked grip. We also struggled to get the soft tires up to the right temperature. That said, we were able to complete some decent running and do quite a few laps. Now, we are focused on tomorrow to improve all that and best prepare for Sunday.»

Bruno Senna – 15th and Did Not Participate:

It was a great session for me. I learned a lot about the car and its evolution. I would have liked to use another set of tires to get a faster lap time, but it was still a wonderful and very beneficial experience. Ideally, I would have wanted to set a better time, but the morning was productive. I’m glad the weather remained stable, allowing me to make the most of these 90 minutes. It was a fantastic opportunity and I enjoyed every moment, no doubt.
