Saturday: the HRT drivers are sandwiched between the Virgin drivers

Vitantonio Liuzzi – 24th and 22nd

« It was a good qualifying overall. The 22nd place is a good result, especially after encountering some problems during the weekend. We tried different things on the car and the balance of the single-seater improved.

Unfortunately, we encountered a problem in the first round, we broke the front wing and stayed like that until the end.

However, it is positive to have been competitive compared to our main rivals, especially after the problems of recent days and given that the track does not really suit us.

We would have done better if everything had gone well, but we have to move forward and push for tomorrow’s race.

Daniel Ricciardo – 22nd and 23rd

« I think it wasn’t such a bad run after all, we were quite close to Tonio and Timo, there were only a few tenths of a difference. When you see that the times are so tight, it’s a bit disappointing not to be a position ahead.

Nevertheless, we can be satisfied because we were competitive, even though I was hoping for a little better.

Tomorrow is another day. It will be rather difficult given the conditions. Tire management will be a key factor as well as pit stops. I don’t know what to expect but I will push to the limit and see what happens.

Colin Kolles, Team Principal

We immediately sent our cars out on super tender tires and Ricciardo set the clock at 1:27.206 and Liuzzi at 1:27.850, in windy conditions. We witnessed a good battle and it was close.

It will be a very difficult race tomorrow if the wind doesn’t die down. We are well prepared for tomorrow as we have learned from our tests yesterday and improved our settings.

We are trying to make good progress in every race and to build on the results from the previous week. There is no reason why we can’t take another step forward this weekend.

We must maintain our qualifying form and reliability and aim to bring both cars to the finish.
