Massa does not care about the rumors
As the Brazilian driver continues to be the subject of rumors and discussions about his future, he assures that he is not concerned and that it is too early to discuss his future with Ferrari.
By stating during the Vrooom Summer Days, for Scuderia Ferrari, that it was fundamental to have Felipe at his maximum considering that, for at least another year and a half, he will be one of [their] drivers, Stefano Domenicali put pressure on his driver and revived rumors about his succession by sketching the robot portrait of his potential replacement: For Ferrari’s future, I think the right combination would be that of an already seasoned driver with great experience [editor’s note: Alonso has extended his contract until 2016] combined with a young driver of great talent and potential [editor’s note: Perez? Bianchi? Etc.].
Invited to respond during a Brazilian television talk show Globo, the Brazilian driver, who joined the Scuderia in 2006, appeared reassuring and almost indifferent to the rumors surrounding his future: « Didn’t you follow me during my first year at Ferrari? Every year it’s the same thing, and it hasn’t changed since, but I’m not worried. »
For the Brazilian, whose seat is secured until the end of his contract in 2012, it is still too early to discuss his future. “I haven’t discussed it with the team because there’s still more than a season and a half to do so. I need to concentrate and try to do the best possible work on track to show my worth,” says the São Paulo native, who appeared calm and joked with the hosts.
Nonetheless, these statements show that the Ferrari driver is receptive to the demands of his team and does not intend to give up his seat without a fight to keep it.
