Lance Stroll will start from the pits in Mexico
Aston Martin has made several changes to Lance Stroll's car. As these changes were made under Parc Fermé conditions, the Canadian driver will start from the pit lane.
The grid penalties are numerous. From the beginning of the weekend, Yuki Tsunoda knew his sentence. Even before the start of the first practice session, the Japanese driver knew he would be penalized for an engine component change.
Next, during the qualifications, it was Logan Sargeant who received a 10-place penalty for overtaking Yuki Tsunoda while there was a waving yellow flag.
Finally, a few hours before the race, the FIA indicated that Lance Stroll will start from the pit lane for the Grand Prix du Mexique. Aston Martin has equipped Lance Stroll’s car with different aerodynamic elements than those used during the qualifying session. This is prohibited by the regulations.
There will therefore only be 19 drivers present on the starting grid at 9pm.
