Senna approaches Monza with confidence

Being called to replace Nick Heidfeld at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit, many were eager to see what Ayrton Senna’s nephew would be capable of doing behind the wheel of the R31.

At the end of the qualifications, the Brazilian had silenced the skeptics by achieving the seventh fastest time. Although the race quickly became complicated with a missed start, the test could be considered a success. Jean Alesi, Lotus ambassador, even declared that Bruno had honored the Senna name.

In Monza, Bruno Senna’s mission will be to confirm the promising performance glimpsed in Belgium, especially since the pressure should be less given that he has been confirmed for the end of the season.

« In Spa, I didn’t know what to expect in terms of competitiveness, but it was very encouraging that I managed to improve my pace quickly, » explains Senna.

« I have a good working relationship with the engineers and I am eager to get in the car at Monza because I feel more confident for this race. I know the car better now, I am more familiar with the car’s behavior and I better understand the directions we can take. I look forward to working more closely with the engineers to find solutions to improve our approach. »
