Friday: Lotus Renault GP confirms its return to the top 10
After a return to Q3 at the Belgian Grand Prix, the Lotus Renault drivers will be keen to replicate this performance. Especially since Bruno Senna, despite performing very well in qualifying, was unable to capitalize in the race after an error at La Source.
Bruno Senna – 16th and 10th
« Today was much simpler than Friday at Spa, and I completed more laps, which is absolutely crucial for me. We worked consistently to see if we were coming out of a Friday with signs of progress, and I think it’s clear that we’re moving forward. I’m starting to understand the car better, and I think I’m heading in the right direction, but there are still opportunities to work on to improve tomorrow. There’s definitely more to extract from the car, and Saturday will be a crucial day to prove that. I really love being out on the track and looking ahead to see what’s in store for me over the weekend.
Vitaly Petrov – 6th and 11th
The practice sessions were good today, mainly because on paper, we accomplished everything we needed to do. There are always reasons to be satisfied, but naturally, we are looking to improve our lap times, as we know there is more to gain from the car this weekend. We have implemented special low downforce settings for Monza from which we should reap the benefits on Sunday. Our spirits are high and we hope to turn this into two constructive days.
