Sunday: Williams lacked rhythm

Williams' goal today was to score points. Both drivers had a good start, but unfortunately for Barrichello, he got caught up in the first corner incident and had to pit to change his front wing. Pastor Maldonado was well-positioned during his first stint but lost ground in the subsequent ones. The Williams simply didn't have the right pace to break into the top 10 today.

Sunday: Williams lacked rhythm

Pastor Maldonado – 11th:

« I had an excellent start and gained positions while avoiding the accident. The pace at the start of the race was quite good but in the second stint, we started losing time and it was difficult to maintain such a good pace. At the end of the race, we had a decent pace but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough. »

Rubens Barrichello – 12th:

« I had a very good start and gained 3 or 4 positions going into the first corner but then I saw the HRT go by. I was lucky it didn’t hit me but I was in the middle of the action and had to stop the car. I didn’t hit anyone but when Rosberg started to move, he touched the front of my car. It was a difficult situation.

It’s a shame that I got involved in that because with our pace and strategy, I could have scored points for the team today.

Sam Michael – Technical Director:

We didn’t have the pace to score points today. Rubens was involved in the accident at the first corner. It wasn’t his fault, but we had to change the car’s front wing. Then we planned to make only one stop to try to take advantage if something unusual happened. Pastor was well-placed after the safety car and had a good first stint, but we didn’t have the pace in the subsequent stints to maintain the position. We are now looking ahead to Singapore to implement the next developments on the car.
