Friday: A weekend start without surprises for Mercedes GP

Mercedes GP begins its weekend calmly. The German team focused on the setup of its car for the continuation of the event. Michael Schumacher thinks that the MGPW02 should allow him to qualify in the top 10 around the 7th place as in the recent GPs. Nico Rosberg also believes that the team has worked well in preparation for both the qualifying sessions and the race.

Friday: A weekend start without surprises for Mercedes GP

Michael Schumacher – 9th and 6th:

« It was two fairly normal practice sessions. We worked on the setup as usual and accomplished what we wanted. However, we are aware that the character of our car and the nature of the circuit don’t match perfectly, and there is still work to be done. From what I’ve seen so far, I think we should qualify as we have been lately, but obviously, we’re going to do our best to improve our position.

Nico Rosberg – 16th and 7th:

« We had two difficult work sessions today. We worked on the car’s balance with different amounts of fuel. However, at the end of the second session, I am happy with what we learned and I think everything is moving in the right direction for tomorrow. »
