Friday: Williams will have a lot of work tomorrow
The Japanese weekend does not start in the best way for Williams. After a puncture in the first session, Rubens Barrichello committed hara-kiri in the second by losing control of his FW33 in the Degner corner. The outlook is not more positive for Pastor Maldonado, who was discovering the track and was stuck in the pits due to engine problems during the second session of the day.
Rubens Barrichello – 17th and 18th:
« I had limited track time today which is unfortunate. A flat tire shortened my morning session, then an outing this afternoon also stopped me prematurely. The car wasn’t great before the accident, so there are a lot of things we need to look at now. »
Pastor Maldonado – 18th and 21st:
« An engine problem stopped me during the second session. It’s my first time in Suzuka so I really need more laps. We will have to finish our work in the last session tomorrow. »
