Friday: Red Bull slightly down
Red Bull didn't dominate either of the day's sessions. Sebastian Vettel finished third twice. Mark Webber wasn't far behind, finishing 5th and 4th.
Sebastian Vettel – 3rd and 3rd:
« It wasn’t a big mistake this morning, but at that moment I wasn’t 100% attentive and a mistake there can be costly. I tried to slow down but I lightly touched the wall. It wasn’t a big impact but it caused some damage to the car so it wasn’t great. »
« It slightly altered our plans, but we had a solid afternoon. The track seems very challenging this year with these tires – they make the car more lively. So Sunday will be an interesting race. Taking the 130R with the DRS open is not as straightforward as it used to be! »
Mark Webber – 5th and 4th:
« It was fun, it’s a great track. It’s a difficult layout, we know there are tricky corners. We gathered some interesting information today. We ran with both tire specifications and completed some long stints, so it wasn’t a bad day. I don’t think KERS will be an issue here, but it’s possible that DRS might put some drivers out. »
