Friday: Schumacher gives a mixed assessment of Mercedes testing
If Nico Rosberg claims to have good feelings on a circuit he considers "great," Michael Schumacher draws a slightly more mixed conclusion from his day.
Nico Rosberg – 6th and 19th:
The new circuit here in India is brilliant. There are some very interesting corners, which is why it takes a little more time to get used to it than on other new tracks. Turn 2, for example, is very different: you arrive downhill, then you look at the sky, and then you see the hairpin very late, just before you reach it.
In general, we had two good sessions and we learned a few things today, so I have a good feeling for this weekend, hoping that this feeling remains intact tomorrow.
Michael Schumacher – 5th and 21st:
« It’s an interesting circuit with a layout that offers some challenges and is definitely enjoyable to drive on. As expected, it’s extremely dusty off the racing line, but the grip on the ideal line improved throughout the day.
This morning, I was satisfied with the car’s balance even though this afternoon it was a bit more difficult. We couldn’t work exactly as we would have liked for various reasons, including the red flag, and so, tomorrow, we still have to work on the settings for qualifying and the race.
