Jerez Tests Live – Day 4

Fourth and final day of testing at the Jerez circuit. Like yesterday, Fernando Alonso, Sebastian Vettel, Lewis Hamilton, Romain Grosjean, Bruno Senna, and Jean-Eric Vergne will hit the track in their respective cars. After being denied his first laps in the Force India VJM05 due to Jules Bianchi’s accident on Thursday morning, Nico Hülkenberg should finally be able to take the wheel of the latest creation from the Indian team. The same goes for Jarno Trulli, who will discover the CT01 for the first time after it was entrusted to the capable hands of Heikki Kovalainen during the first two days and Giedo Van der Garde, Caterham’s third driver, on Thursday. Kamui Kobayashi will resume driving the Sauber C31 after it was handled by his teammate, Sergio Perez, for the past two days. No Mercedes in sight!

Highlights of the 4th private testing session in Jerez:

09:12: After the customary installation laps, Lewis Hamilton is the first to record a time: 1:43.061

**09:19:** Hülkenberg finally takes to the track after Force India managed to repair the damage on the VJM05 following Bianchi’s accident yesterday.

09:30 AM: Kamui Kobayashi comes out on medium tires (with white sidewalls) and takes the best time at 1:22.030, which he then improves to 1:21.250.

09:50: Fernando Alonso, in his first fast lap, sets the best time at 1:19.289 in front of his home crowd!

10:55 AM: Red flag due to debris on the track.

12:00: At midday, Alonso leads ahead of Vergne and Hamilton.

**1:02 PM:** Red flag: Bruno Senna stops his FW34 on the roadside after more than an hour and a half spent on the track without stopping! Probably ran out of fuel.

14:26: Sebastian Vettel finally returns to the track after experiencing electronic issues that prevented him from driving all morning.

14h43: Red flag caused by Kamui Kobayashi stopping the C31 on the roadside due to a drop in hydraulic pressure.
