Sutil still thinks about F1 for 2012
Even though all the seats have been filled for the 2012 Formula 1 season, Adrian Sutil's manager still hopes to see his driver in F1 for this new season.
Adrian Sutil had several opportunities to stay in Formula 1 at the end of 2011, but ultimately none of these contacts materialized, leaving the German driver sidelined less than a month before the season started. However, his manager, Manfred Zimmermann, told the German press that he was doing everything possible for Sutil to continue in F1 in 2012.
“We will fight to stay in Formula 1 and we still hope to secure a seat for 2012 – even though the season is about to start,” Manfred Zimmermann told the magazine Sport Bild.
Force India decided not to retain Sutil at the end of 2011, preferring Nico Hülkenberg instead. The German driver and his manager therefore engaged in discussions with other teams – four to be precise – but due to insufficient resources, Sutil was not chosen by any of these teams to race in 2012.
Unfortunately in Formula 1, money is always the most important. And in the end, it did not work.
But in any case, Adrian Sutil’s motorsport career is not limited to Formula 1, and Zimmermann confirmed that Sutil had opportunities in Touring Cars or IndyCar.
“We have received inquiries in recent days from various championships such as IndyCar or touring cars. In America, Adrian is a very respected driver,” added Zimmermann.
