Sunday: Missed Opportunity for Williams
Even if they don't score any points, the Williams team can be relieved after the first Grand Prix of the season. The FW34 is much more competitive than the FW33 was, and the work done over the winter, as well as the numerous changes made within the team, have paid off. The disappointment of not scoring the points from the sixth place is present, but optimism is the order of the day for the rest of the season.
Pastor Maldonado – retired (off-track)
« The car was good today. Our pace was fast and steady, and we were competitive until the incident I had on the last lap, which is very important. Unfortunately, I lost the rear of the car while trying to catch up with Alonso, and there was nothing I could do. »
Bruno Senna – retired (accident)
« I got off to a good start. I tried to take the outside at the first corner and I felt someone touching me. I had to make an extra stop which made things difficult. My race was improving but I had a collision with Massa so luck wasn’t on our side today. That’s racing and we are now looking forward to going to Malaysia.

« Even if the final result is disappointing for the team, we are thrilled with the significant improvement in the performance of the FW34, which showed a good pace in qualifying and the race. We now hope to deliver a strong performance next week in Malaysia. »
