Sutil eyes a seat at Sauber
Not retained by Team Sahara Force India in 2012, Adrian Sutil hopes to return to F1 as soon as possible and could see himself returning to Sauber in the game of musical chairs.
The latest paddock rumor suggests that Sergio Perez might move to Ferrari to replace Felipe Massa, which would leave a seat available at the Sauber F1 team. Jules Bianchi could be a contender for this position – he is part of the Ferrari Driver Academy and the Sauber team is powered by Ferrari.
But Bianchi is not the only one in the running; another driver has shown interest in the Swiss team. It’s Adrian Sutil, the German driver who was not retained by Force India for 2012 and thus finds himself without a seat in F1 for this year. However, he is ready to return and would like it to happen as soon as possible.
«I want to come back – hopefully very soon. You have to look around and see where the opportunities are. I have always thought highly of Sauber, and this year, they are doing a great job. They are one of the best private teams. It would clearly be a great place (to come back) » Sutil told Bayerisches Fernsehen.
The German driver is available because he is not racing in any other category at the moment; he even admitted that only F1 mattered to him.
«I continue to stay in shape and I am extremely motivated. I had wonderful years with Force India, but now I am looking for a new challenge, I am really ready (to return) – at any time. At the moment, I’m not racing anywhere else (but in F1) because I think great opportunities could come,» added the German driver.
