Less pressure for Senna after Malaysia

Bruno Senna started in F1 in 2010 with the HRT team. He was not retained afterwards but signed for 2011 with Lotus Renault GP, who made him a regular driver following the dismissal of Nick Heidfeld. In 2012, Senna signed with a third team in three years, Williams F1, but given his surname, expectations are high.

The Brazilian is in the spotlight because of the story of his name and because he has to prove his worth in F1 given the pay-driver status attributed to him by some observers. The Malaysian Grand Prix was an opportunity for him to show everyone that he also has talent. He demonstrated great skills in the rain to finish the Grand Prix in 6th place – synonymous with 8 points, which is more than the total scored by Williams for the entire 2011 season.

This fine performance in a difficult race silenced the critics and Senna is delighted: “Getting a good result takes a certain weight off your shoulders. There will always be critics and you can’t please everyone. But it’s certain that getting a good result will fend off the critics. I hope I can secure new good results to show that I deserve my place here (in F1),” Senna told The Sun.

The goal for Ayrton Senna’s nephew will be to confirm himself in the upcoming races of the season, and why not in two weeks in China for the third Grand Prix of the season.
