Saturday: the Caterham drivers gave it their all
Heikki Kovalainen and Vitaly Petrov feel they did what was needed today in qualifying. Both Caterham drivers believe they maximized the potential offered by the CT01. They are happy with their laps and hope to deliver a good race tomorrow.
Heikki Kovalainen – 20th and 19th
I almost extracted everything I could from the car today. I made a small mistake in the last corner of my second stint, which might have cost me a few tenths, but the car was well balanced and there probably wasn’t much more to gain in Q1. In my first stint, I was blocked by Maldonado on the long straight, so we’ll see what happens, but overall, I’m happy with my performance, so we’ll see what we can do tomorrow.
Vitaly Petrov – 19th and 20th
I had some trouble today finding a good balance, but in my second Q1 stint, I did a good lap. We know from the first two races that we can fight on Sunday, and we seem quite conservative on the tires, so with a good strategy and a bit of luck, maybe tomorrow could bring us something good.
