Italy on track to stay on the calendar for several years

The Tifosi will undoubtedly be delighted. With two races in Italy for several seasons, fans of the Ferrari team have much more luck than some European neighbors. However, the contracts of Imola and Monza with F1 are coming to an end. The 2025 season being their last year.

Angelo Sticchi Damiani, the president of the ACI, has revealed that discussions are underway to extend the presence of these two circuits on the calendar. While it seems to be heading in the right direction, work will need to be done in Monza to improve the infrastructure.

“We already have an agreement. The only thing missing is the details, to sign a new contract that includes the confirmation of the two Grand Prix races, in Monza and Imola, for an additional five years,” explains Angelo Sticchi Damiani. “Having two races on the calendar until 2030 would be an extraordinary achievement for our country. We would like to sign a pre-contract by the end of 2024.”

If the Monza contract is extended, prices should increase as it is currently one of the least expensive Grand Prix races in Europe. On the other hand, the local authorities in Imola have pledged to modernize the site. These words seem to convince the F1 officials.
