Saturday: Marussia Delighted with Progress Made

Timo Glock had a complicated day today as the behavior of his car was significantly altered with the higher temperatures encountered in China today. The German driver had to work very hard to regain better sensations with his MR01. On his side, Charles Pic experienced similar but less significant problems. The Frenchman was a bit disappointed with his performance in qualifying, but he is happy with the competitiveness of his Marussia.

Saturday: Marussia Delighted with Progress Made

Timo Glock – 21st and 21st

It was a very difficult Saturday for me. The car was much better yesterday and I had a good feeling. But for some reason, this morning, I had a lot of oversteer and we had balance issues. We couldn’t get rid of the oversteer during free practice 3, so we made some changes for qualifying, and I lost a bit of confidence in the car.

I had to get used to the car again – during qualifying – but at least we made the necessary improvements. It wasn’t perfect, but maybe we had too much fuel in the car. I have to be satisfied with finding a good balance, but I couldn’t attack like yesterday, so we need to study why. The track temperature increased and that was a factor, but we need to understand the problem for the future to continue improving and to find the right solution.

Charles Pic – 22nd and 22nd

I’m a bit disappointed because I didn’t manage to put all my best sectors together today, but I think we have to be happy with the progress made with the single-seater this weekend. The developments brought here have proven to be good, and we can see that the gap with Caterham has decreased since Malaysia. We must continue to go in this direction now, and from Spain, I think we can be even better. I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s race.
