Sunday: the new features are working well at Caterham
Vitaly Petrov expressed his delight with his race and believes that the updates made to the CT01 are working well. On the other hand, Heikki Kovalainen experienced an issue during a pit stop, and the Finnish driver finished 23rd and last classified, but he hopes to bounce back as early as next weekend in Bahrain.
Vitaly Petrov – 18th
I’m delighted with my performance today. I think I extracted everything I could from the car, and the fact that we were able to stay on the leaders’ lap until the last lap is a very positive sign. We’ve introduced a few new features here, and they worked well – the key for us is to keep pushing, bringing new parts to the car, and ensuring we maintain our current positive momentum.
Heikki Kovalainen – 23rd
I got off to a good start, found myself 16th off the racing line, and then everything went well during the first stint with the Softs. We changed tires on lap 13 and switched to the Mediums, which lasted until lap 30, but after the second stop, I felt a problem with the right rear, so I had to pit again, which ended my race. It wasn’t our best weekend, but with the next race in just a week, we can bounce back immediately, so we will head to Bahrain and try to have a better weekend.
