Saturday: Williams hopes to rely on their race pace
Once again, the Williams drivers did not make it to Q3. Suffering from KERS issues in Q2 and penalized five grid places, Pastor Maldonado will start from a distant 22nd position, while his teammate, Bruno Senna, will begin from 15th place.
Bruno Senna – 17th and 15th:
« It was really tough today. Once again, a few tenths of a second could make a big difference on the grid. It will be a big challenge tomorrow but I think we can have a good race from where we start. I think I got as much as possible out of the car today, but we can be stronger tomorrow. »
Pastor Maldonado – 11th and 17th [22nd on the grid]:
The car seemed fast this morning, so it’s a shame that we had a KERS problem that prevented us from doing a stint in Q2. It will be a tough race tomorrow with the grid penalty, just as it is a challenging circuit.
We have to attack from the start and successfully implement our strategy, but our pace seemed good in the race simulations, so I’m looking forward to facing this challenge.
