Sunday: Big Points for Paul di Resta and Force India
Thanks to a perfectly executed two-stop strategy, Paul di Resta was able to finish the Bahrain Grand Prix in 6th place, scoring significant points for the Sahara Force India team. Nico Hülkenberg, on the other hand, had some issues with his clutch at the start and couldn't do better than 12th place.
Paul Di Resta – 6th
The result today is incredible for us. The team did excellent work throughout the weekend, the strategy went well, and the pit stops were perfect. We knew it would be difficult to make only two stops, and it was tough at the end of the race because my tires were completely worn in the last lap. I had Fernando (Alonso) right behind me, but I managed to save a bit of KERS for the last corner, which allowed me to stay ahead. Apart from that, the car was fantastic. So we leave (Bahrain) very happy as a team and with a few weeks ahead of us to reflect on all this, and we are determined to arrive in Barcelona in as good shape.
Nico Hülkenberg – 12th
I think my race was decided from the start when I had some clutch issues and the anti-stall kicked in, which really compromised my start and put me at the back of the pack. From there, it was a long and difficult struggle to climb back, and it was really tough with the traffic. I managed to finish 12th, but I couldn’t have done better. So a tough race for me, but it’s good to see Paul score some points.
