Friday: A good day for Kobayashi and Sauber
Kamui Kobayashi was very satisfied with his car and his performance today at the Circuit de Catalunya. The Japanese driver knows, however, that not everything is perfect. Sergio Pérez, on the other hand, experienced some issues in properly setting up his car but is confident that everything will be sorted out by tomorrow.
Kamui Kobayashi – 3rd and 9th
«It was a good first day for us here. I think my best lap with the Softs could have been even better, but I wasn’t pushing hard enough on that lap. The long runs seem good with both the Hards and the Softs. However, I think we’ll need to improve the car’s balance for qualifying. We had a trouble-free day, and I’m looking forward to tomorrow. »
Sergio Pérez – 15th and 12th
The balance of the car wasn’t very good this morning and we had to change a lot of things for this afternoon’s session. We went in the right direction because we were able to do better, so it was a productive day. I found that on long stints, both types of tires degrade a lot, but we’ll see what we can do to improve this aspect.
