Friday: Mercedes drivers optimistic
Michael Schumacher is satisfied with his first day of testing in Barcelona. The German driver is pleased with the progress made. Nico Rosberg shares the same sentiment and believes he can achieve a good result if the team manages the Pirelli tires well.
Nico Rosberg – 14th and 3rd
Overall, everything worked well today, but there are still some question marks after these two sessions. Tire management will again be a challenge this weekend, and it should be the key to success. We have a lot of options to work on tonight to find the right settings for the conditions expected tomorrow and Sunday.
Michael Schumacher – 6th and 8th
The way the day unfolded for us today clearly proves that the tests conducted at Mugello were worth it, so once again I’m glad to have had the chance to participate. Obviously, it was very hot today and even though the track was very slippery, it was in line with our expectations. Our feeling for this weekend is good after everything we learned during these two practice sessions, so we will need to analyze the data in detail to find out exactly how to approach the qualifying session and the race from what we learned today.
