Saturday: Pic continues to impress Marussia

By once again outpacing his teammate, Charles Pic continues to impress his team and exceeds the expectations that Marussia had for him at this stage of the season. However, the Anglo-Russian team doesn't yet believe it can compete with the cars ahead of them on the starting grid.

Saturday: Pic continues to impress Marussia

Charles Pic – 20th and 20th [after Lewis Hamilton’s disqualification]:

« I’m rather happy to be honest. I think for me, overall, it’s a pretty good qualification. We managed to improve the car for this weekend, but the gap to the cars in front doesn’t reflect that. I don’t think we really know where we stand yet because the car wasn’t at 100%. I have a feeling there’s definitely more to come. We always seem better in the race compared to our competitors and I hope this will be confirmed tomorrow. For now, I’m happy with my position and I’m looking forward to the race. »

Timo Glock – 21st and 22nd [after Lewis Hamilton’s disqualification]:

It’s a much better day today than yesterday. I think we have more or less overcome our problems and in Free Practice 3, this morning, I had better sensations. Unfortunately, qualifying wasn’t really great for me. I made a mistake on my first fast lap and after that I wasn’t fast enough, then on my second lap with my first set of tires, I came across a yellow flag at turn 3 where an HRT [editor’s note: Karthikeyan’s car] had gone off, so I couldn’t make the most of my first set of tires.

On the second run, I simply couldn’t complete a proper lap. The first sector was good, then in the second sector I encountered some traffic and for some reason, I lost performance in the third sector. Things didn’t go as they should have today, and I’ll have to sit down to analyze this and hope for a better race tomorrow.
