Schumacher penalized by 5 grid places in Monaco

Following his collision with Bruno Senna today during the Spanish Grand Prix, Michael Schumacher was deemed responsible for the accident by the race stewards, who decided to impose a five-place grid penalty for the next Grand Prix, which will be held in Monaco, on the Mercedes driver.

After the race, both drivers blamed each other for the collision, with Senna stating that it was difficult to overtake at the start of the race and then Schumacher was propelled by his DRS on the straight and collided with me.

Michael Schumacher, for his part, felt that it is not easy to see on the television replays, but from my point of view, he went to the right to defend the inside, and suddenly, shortly after the braking point, he went to the left. When you are so close in the braking zone, you have nothing else to do but try to react and avoid the collision, but it was too late.

The stewards judged that the German driver was responsible for the collision that forced the Williams driver to retire from the Grand Prix and, under rule 16.1 of the sporting regulations, therefore decided to penalize him.
