Thursday: Sauber drivers hoped for more dry track time
Kamui Kobayashi and Sergio Pérez hoped to drive more on a dry track today in Monaco. But despite a second practice session disrupted by rain, both Sauber drivers believe that the C31 is competitive on the streets of the Principality.
Sergio Pérez – 3rd and 15th
The conditions were not ideal for working, but we seem good in the rain, so that’s positive. In the dry, there is still some work to do, which we did not manage to do this morning. However, I am confident because this morning we were fast, the car is performing well and I think we can be competitive in qualifying on Saturday.
Kamui Kobayashi – 7th and 8th
Everything went well today. The car has clearly improved in slow corners compared to last year, and that’s really crucial in Monaco. The car’s balance seems good, and I’m quite confident for the weekend. I just can’t predict how the two types of tires will perform in the race because the bad weather prevented us from doing real long runs.
