Saturday: Disappointment in the Sauber camp

No Sauber team single-seater managed to qualify for Q3. Sergio Pérez had an issue on his first lap and hit the barrier, damaging his car. He will start 24th and last. Kamui Kobayashi, on the other hand, will start 11th and hopes to score big points.

Saturday: Disappointment in the Sauber camp

Kamui Kobayashi – 13th and 12th (11th on the grid)

« Obviously, I would have hoped for a better result today. With super-soft tires, you only have one lap to set a good time. I managed to improve in Q2, but unfortunately not enough to be in Q3. Nevertheless, the car is good and it will be good in the race, so I think we can climb up tomorrow. It will depend a lot on our strategy and luck regarding the safety car interventions, which always come into play here. I am confident that we can score good points tomorrow. »

Sergio Pérez – 9th and 24th (23rd on the grid)

« I am disappointed because I had the feeling that we could fight for a very good position on the grid here. We are still analyzing what went wrong with the car. I was on my first lap, so I wasn’t pushing too hard. I came out of the tunnel and had a lot of understeer and then I approached turns 13 and 14. Turn 13 was good but in turn 14 I went straight and couldn’t get the car to turn. »
