Friday: Little running in the rain for Force India
The Sahara Force India drivers did little driving today due to the rain. This didn't stop Jules Bianchi from completing new laps behind the wheel of an F1. Nico Hülkenberg, on his side, demonstrated strong performance in these conditions.

New Friday practice sessions where it was difficult to find a good rhythm and do the planned work. This morning, the showers gave us little track time with the slick tires, so I couldn’t really get a feel for the Hard development tire brought by Pirelli. The track surface is very smooth here and there was little grip this morning, especially with the few puddles. With this afternoon’s showers, all we could do was to get a good understanding of the Wet and Intermediate tires in case the rain continues tomorrow.

« It wasn’t an easy session for me this morning because of the showers, which forced me to stop and wait for the track to dry. The rain wasn’t very heavy, but it had made the track very slippery. I did the majority of my laps on Medium tires and was improving lap after lap. I set my fastest lap on my last stint when the track conditions were optimal, and I was able to get closer to the car’s limits. »
Paul di Resta – 18th [Free Practice 2]
« It was a very short day for me with little running in the rain. The track dried out well towards the middle of the session and we were close to switching to slicks, but the rain came back. We did our preparation for the rain, so we just need to see what the weather will bring for tomorrow.
