Saturday: Pic ahead of Glock at Marussia

Despite limited track time, Charles Pic managed to outperform Timo Glock during the qualifying sessions. The German driver is not on form this weekend in front of his home crowd because he is facing issues with his Marussia that he hasn't been able to resolve since yesterday.

Saturday: Pic ahead of Glock at Marussia

Charles Pic – 22nd and 21st [20th on the grid]:

After a complicated Free Practice 3 this morning, where I missed most of the session due to an engine change, I can be pleased with my qualifying session. I was only able to do three laps on Soft tires before qualifying and with the mixed conditions in Q1 – we didn’t know when the rain would arrive – I didn’t feel very well prepared. I felt very comfortable in the car and I think I could have done even better. In the last lap of my second stint – my fastest lap – I made a small mistake in the first sector, but fortunately, sectors 2 and 3 were good. I am looking forward to seeing what we can do in the race tomorrow to extract even more performance from the car, which, despite the little running today, is performing very well. A big thank you to all my mechanics; those few laps in Free Practice 3 were very important for today’s result, made possible only thanks to the quick engine change.

Timo Glock – 21st and 22nd:

« A difficult weekend for me from the first session on Friday. I struggled with the car due to rear instability, which means I don’t have the confidence to push at the moment. We’ve tried several things since yesterday to fix the issue, but we’ve run out of time to really understand what’s happening. Of course, we still have the race and all the possibilities that can occur. If the race is dry, then we’ll have to push to get the most out of the car and see the finish. A big thank you to all the fans who have been very supportive, despite a complicated weekend so far. I hope to do better tomorrow. »
