Sunday: The HRT team delighted with their German Grand Prix
Pedro de la Rosa managed to finish ahead of a Marussia at the German Grand Prix, which delights him. Narain Karthikeyan is also thrilled with his Grand Prix, and the entire HRT team seems pleased with the performance of its two drivers today in Germany and hopes to do even better in a week at the Hungaroring.
Pedro de la Rosa – 21st:
I had a lot of fun during today’s race. Everything went well, we kept a good pace and the tires held up without any issues, but what I’m happiest about is my battle on the track. I was chasing Glock’s car from start to finish, and shortly before the end, when I saw that his tires were gone, I overtook him, gaining a position I didn’t expect. I’m very happy because, for the first time, we were able to beat a Marussia and overtake it on the track. The race wasn’t easy because I started seeing blue flags very early on. It’s really complicated because as soon as you see the first one, you know there will be many more to come. From then on, you try not to get in the way, to keep your pace, and not to dirty the tires. I think I managed to do that well. I hope we can maintain this level of performance or even improve in Hungary.
Narain Karthikeyan – 23rd:
This has been a good race for us because we were battling with our rivals from the first to the last lap. From this point of view, I think it has been our best race of the year so far. I lost too much time with the blue flags in my last stint, but I didn’t finish too far behind Pedro or Glock. Our pace was good and what’s even better is that we achieved this without bringing any new updates to the car, so we clearly have good potential.
