Saturday: Grosjean gives Lotus its best qualification in 2012

If Romain Grosjean will start tomorrow on the front row of a Formula One Grand Prix for the first time in his career, he also allows Lotus to achieve its best qualification of the year. The British team is, however, disappointed that Kimi Räikkönen could not capitalize on the potential glimpsed in Q2 during Q3. The Finn will start in 6th position.

Saturday: Grosjean gives Lotus its best qualification in 2012

Romain Grosjean – 7th and 2nd:

The qualifying was very close and it was difficult to see where we could have ended up, so the front row is fantastic. We arrived here after a tough weekend at Hockenheim and to be honest, I didn’t have the best start yesterday. We worked hard to improve things overnight and the car performed better in practice this morning. I’m very happy and just a little surprised to be in second place on the grid. Today’s work is done, we’ll see what we can do tomorrow.

Kimi Räikkönen – 6th and 5th:

« It is certainly not a bad performance in qualifying, but it’s a bit disappointing not to have been faster when it counted. The car is behaving well, but I didn’t put the most important lap together at the right time. Let’s wait and see what happens tomorrow. »
