Boullier: Lotus has the ability to win, and not just once

In Hungary, the Lotus F1 Team once again missed out on victory but secured a double podium with Kimi Räikkönen and Romain Grosjean. A strong overall result that allows the Enstone team to look forward to the second half of the season with undisguised enthusiasm.

« I can’t wait to see weekends similar to that of Hungary because I think everything is coming together now. Both drivers are eager to do well, they are starting, with the team, to really deliver great performances, like everyone here in Enstone, » explains Eric Boullier on the team’s official website.

« Our package is working very well, the car has performed excellently throughout the first part of the season. We just missed several opportunities to score more points, but that’s life… The second half of the year will see an even stronger Lotus F1 Team. We have the ability to score in every race and even to win, and not just once… »

« Even though we have done better than any other team since Monaco, we know we could have achieved even more, much more, given the performance of our car and our drivers. We seem to be getting stronger as the year goes on. Both of our drivers are sharp, and I find myself looking at the calendar thinking: ‘the car should do well at this place… and that one… and that one…’, » analyzes James Allison, the technical director of the team.

With the introduction of the double DRS, which could provide a valuable boost in kilometers per hour, the E20 will be one to watch whether in the hands of Grosjean or Räikkönen, and more podiums could well be added to the eight already achieved, with, who knows, maybe even a winner’s trophy before hostilities end in November…
