Ferrari, Mercedes and Force India at Magny-Cours in September
The Magny-Cours Circuit announced that it would host three days of testing for young drivers in September, with the teams Ferrari, Mercedes, and Sahara Force India present.
As we announced a month ago, the Circuit de Magny-Cours will host private Formula 1 testing this year. The Nivernais track has been chosen by the Ferrari, Mercedes, and Sahara Force India teams for their young driver tests.
These three teams will be present at Magny-Cours for three days of testing scheduled for September 11, 12, and 13, right after the Italian Grand Prix held at the Monza circuit.
Unlike in 2011, this year the tests for young drivers will take place at three separate events. Williams, HRT, and Marussia ran at Silverstone following the British Grand Prix, and the other teams on the grid – Red Bull, McLaren, Lotus, Toro Rosso, Sauber, and Caterham – are expected to have three testing days in Abu Dhabi after the Grand Prix held at the Yas Marina Circuit.
Serge Saulnier, the head of the Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours, expressed his delight at the return of F1 to his circuit: “I am thrilled to announce that next month, Formula 1 cars will be back on the Nevers Magny-Cours circuit. We have been working tirelessly for many years to continue improving our facilities, which have just been re-approved for the next four years to F1 standards, and I am confident that the teams and their drivers will be delighted with the work done.”
