Saturday: Lotus hoped for a little better
Kimi Räikkönen seems at ease on the Spa-Francorchamps circuit, and the Finn demonstrated it this afternoon by setting the 4th fastest time. He will finally start 3rd after Maldonado's penalty. On his side, Romain Grosjean will start from 8th place on the grid; the Frenchman was not completely satisfied with the behavior of his E20 but hopes tomorrow will be a better day.
Kimi Räikkönen – 2nd and 4th [3rd on the grid]:
« It was not the simplest qualifying session. The car seems good but it looks like we didn’t have the speed the others had and we were clearly not fast enough for the pole today. The race will be another story. On the grid, we are ahead of the guys who are ahead of us in the championship, so we will try to score more points than they do. »
Romain Grosjean – 8th and 9th [8th on the grid]:
« This was not my best qualifying session and I struggled a bit. I had traffic in Q1 and was not as confident with the car as I would have liked. You can see how tight the top 10 is, so I suffered from not having exactly what I wanted, especially with the Mediums. Missing yesterday’s practice due to the weather didn’t help either because any time spent in the car is beneficial, especially on a track as long as Spa. I am confident that the car will be good in the race and we will have a good strategy. »
