Saturday: Maldonado disappointed with his penalty, Senna with his performance
The disappointment was present in the Williams camp at the end of the qualifiers, due to poor positioning for Bruno Senna and Pastor Maldonado's penalty. However, the Venezuelan driver will still start 6th, a result that satisfies him. He hopes to score points tomorrow, just like Bruno Senna despite his 17th place on the grid.
Pastor Maldonado – 11th and 3rd [6th on the grid]:
This morning did not go as well as we had hoped, but during qualifying, I adapted to the car and the changing track conditions, the latter constantly improving. After Q1, I saw what the potential was, so we just had to put everything together for the rest of the qualifying. I am obviously disappointed to be 6th after the penalty, but it’s still a good result, so I’m happy for the team. We will now prepare for the race, and I look forward to being able to push tomorrow in order to achieve a good result.
Bruno Senna – 17th and 17th:
« I am a little disappointed with the qualification because things didn’t fall into place today. My spin was unfortunate and it slightly damaged the car. It’s frustrating to be far behind compared to our true level but we have scored points starting from this far back before, so we need to stay focused and make sure to achieve it again. »
