Sunday: The HRT drivers had fun at Spa-Francorchamps
Despite Narain Karthikeyan's retirement due to a suspension problem, the HRT drivers are pleased with their race as they managed to keep pace with their rivals and even outperformed a struggling Heikki Kovalainen. In short, for once, De la Rosa and Karthikeyan enjoyed the race.
Pedro de la Rosa – 18th:
« It was an intense race from beginning to end. I couldn’t completely avoid the accident at the first corner because, apart from the wing tips flying in the air, I was trapped between cars, with no space, and I was hit several times. That’s why I had to stop earlier than expected to change the front wing. After that, it went well: we were able to fight with the Marussias and Kovalainen until the end. We still have a bit of a way to go to be where we want to be, but today was a race of warriors but also a fun race. »
Narain Karthikeyan – Retirement:
« I had a very good start and the car was fantastic during the first stint, allowing me to have a nice battle with Pic. But after the second stop, I encountered some issues with the suspension and went off the track. It’s a shame because I was having a good race, ahead of a Caterham, but I am happy with our performance and hope to continue at this level in Monza next weekend.
