Saturday: Williams lacking pace in qualifying

After this morning's practice sessions, Williams thought they could achieve a good performance during the qualifying. However, Maldonado and Senna were unable to find the right pace for a lap. The FW34 should perform better in the race, and the goal is to score points, although for the Venezuelan starting from 22nd place, the mission may prove to be challenging.

Saturday: Williams lacking pace in qualifying

Pastor Maldonado – 10th and 12th [22nd on the grid after penalty]:

« It hasn’t been the best of days for our car and we are struggling with our pace. On my last lap in Q2, I didn’t manage to put everything together. It’s very tight here and it will be a tough race, but we did a lot of practice with a full fuel load so I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do. »

Bruno Senna – 13th and 14th:

« I think we are more competitive with the Hard tires because for various reasons we seem to lose a lot of grip with the Mediums. We need to look into that. We have a good race pace and the track should allow for some overtaking, so I think we can have a chance to score points. It’s very tight here at Monza, but it will be a long race. I look forward to racing on this beautiful track. »
