Sunday: Sauber neither in rhythm, nor lucky

Sergio Pérez – 10th (after the penalty given to Webber):

« For us, it was obviously a difficult weekend. We had many difficulties and never found the pace. We tried everything, including putting our eggs in different baskets in terms of strategies, but ultimately the points were out of reach. I had some good fights, but it was too difficult for me to overtake. We need to do better for the next race in Suzuka, and I’m sure we’ll get there. »

Kamui Kobayashi – 13th:

« I had a bad start with a lot of wheelspin, and then, for a long time, nothing happened during my race. I wasn’t in a position to attack and didn’t have the ability to do so. After the deployment of the second safety car, I couldn’t avoid the collision with Nico Hülkenberg. There was nowhere to go. To me, it was just a racing incident. Nico apologized when we met after the race: apparently, he had oversteer. I lost my front wing and had to pit. However, it wasn’t a good weekend for us, but I am fully confident that we will come back strong for the Japanese Grand Prix. »
